This app is built with modern web standards. The frontend uses vanilla HTML, CSS, and JavaScript for maximum performance. Weather data comes from the Open-Meteo free API (no key required). Charts are rendered with Chart.js. Historical data is loaded on demand to minimize API usage.
Snow Day Predictor is an independent, unofficial educational tool. We are not affiliated with any school district, government agency, or meteorological service. Always check official school district announcements for actual closure information.

Snow Day Predictor collects minimal data to function. Specifically:
We do not require login, store your search history, or sell any data to third parties.
When you use "Use My Location," your browser requests GPS coordinates. These coordinates are sent to our weather API to retrieve forecasts. We do not log or retain your coordinates beyond the duration of your session.
We use weather APIs to retrieve forecast data for your location. Your query (city name or coordinates) is transmitted to the API. Please refer to the respective API provider's privacy policy for their data handling practices.
Prediction explanations are generated by an AI model. The weather parameters used for prediction are not linked to any personal identity.
All connections to this site use HTTPS. We do not operate a backend database, meaning no user data is stored server-side.
